In preparation for the next unit, please can you research the following sub-topic:-

The Development of Competitive Sport - '20th Century Sport'

- The concept of 'Spectatorism'

- Sport as a Business

- The development of Professional Sport

- The development of International Sport

- The rise of the 'Sports Star'

Make a 'full and proper' set of notes as the assessment requires you to write an essay around this topic.

Use the Edexcel text book and the Unit 1 revision guide to help you.

2. How can performance in each system be improved through teargetted training.

Year 7 Project - Healthy and Active lifestyles

As part of the work you will be doing in PE this term, you need to complete a project about the reasons why people take part in physical activity.

You will need to use your communication, written, reading, writing and analytical skills to finish the project successfully.

There are four tasks that need to be completed - You will find these on this blog.

You can give the project in as a powerpoint presentaion, a podcast, a video documentry or in a written form.

The deadline for completing the four tasks is

FRIDAY 5TH FEBRUARY 2010.

Year 7 Feedback 2009

Congratulations for successfully completing your first term at Highgate Wood.

Since September you have taken part in many activities which you would have given you many different experiences.

The aim of this blog is to find out the parts you have enjoyed, the things that have gone well and some areas you would like to improve in.

Year 10 Leadership Award Level One - 2009/20010: Unit 7 - Demonstration of leadership skills in sport

Task:-

1. Organise a number of sports sessions, ideally in two different sporting or recreational activities for your peer group or lower age group children.


2. Complete a minimum of three hours of leadership experience using the skills and experience gained from Units 1-6 whilst under direct supervision.


3. Record each of the session that you lead and place them into this blog.
