Unit 4 - Understanding Fair Play in Sport
Fair play is a key part of all the sessions you will lead.
1. What do you understand by the term 'Fair Play'?
2. What do you do during a session to make sure games are played in the right way?
3. How do you make sure everyone is treated with respect?
4. How did you deal with disruptive behaviour or pupils lacking respect for others?
5. How did you feel when dealing with problem behaviour?
6. Did it make a difference to how the rest of the session worked?

1. Fair play means when everyone is following the rules and treating each other with respect so an activity can be played out properly and not held back by any trouble makers.
2. Make sure everyone knows the rules and that there will be consequences for misbehaving. Stay in control so that children do what you say and don't misbehave.
3. Let the children know the ground rules and that everyone is to be treated fairly.
4. If a child is acting badly i think that you should take the child aside let them know what they are doing and why it is wrong, give them a warning and let them know that if they do it again the consequences will be worse.
5. I didn't have to deal with any serious problems, but i feel that all children listened to me when i warned them about something and changed their behavior afterwards.This felt quite positive because it told me that i was in control and the children had a positive attitude and were willing to listen.
6. I think that all the children responded well and there were no real problems in the lesson.

1)Fair play in my eyes is playing the game by the rules and not trying to gain an unfair advantage over your oppenent.aswell as this fair play is not diturbing the game on purpose
2) There are several things in a session that can be done to see if the game is bieng played in the right manor , for example asking the particpants how they found the activity
3)To make sure evryone is treated with respect you can make sure that the activity can include a persons strenghths and weaknesses
4)you can deal with a disruptive pupil by giving them a seperate and short activity to do while the game is bieng played . Example a set of star jumps
5)I didnt get a feeling of anysort because there was less people in my group and they all enjoyed the session so there was no space for behaviour issues
6)It made a difference because the lesson ran very smoothly when it came to the crunch

1. to me the term fair play means that everyone is respecting eachother and the rules and by doing so a trouble free game would be able to take place.
2. to make sure that you have a game played in the correct way you must clearly explain the rules and the consequences for breaking them and make sure that you are always in control of the group.
3. to make sure that everyone is treated with respect you must treat them with respect and make sure that you tell the group thateveryone must be treated equally with respect.
4. to deal with disruptive behaviour or a lack of respect to other pupils i firstly gave them a warning and let them know what they did and why it was wrong and let them know that if they continued to misbehve that they would be punished in an appropriate way.
5. in my group i didnt have to deal withany major behavioural probles but i did have to give a couple of cautions and i felt that once i had explained why i did so, they appologised and no further actions had to be taken.
6. by showing the rest of the group that i was not afraid to show my authority, i think that less problems occured because they were aware that there would be consequences for their actions.
1. Fair Play Is When Everyone Taking Part In The Game Is Involving Others Around Them, Showing Each Other Respect And Follows The Rules :)
2. Make Sure Everyone Has a Equal Chance At Playing. Make Sure The Rules Are Clear To Keep In Control.
3. By Treating Them With Respect You Will Get Respect In Return. Which Will Reflect On The Whole Group.:)

1. Fair play means following the rules and not cheating and everyone id participating.
2. Make sure everyone knows the rules and everyone is included.
3. Make sure no one is left out and make it clear at the beginning that everyone is to be treated with respect and the consequences if they don't.
