Year 7 Feedback 2009

Congratulations for successfully completing your first term at Highgate Wood.

Since September you have taken part in many activities which you would have given you many different experiences.

The aim of this blog is to find out the parts you have enjoyed, the things that have gone well and some areas you would like to improve in.

The following questions will help to tell us about these areas so that we can help you in the coming months.

1. What two activities have you enjoyed and why?

2. What have you found difficult and would like to improve?

3. Have you been to any PE clubs or competed for any of the school teams?

4. Describe how you feel about PE in one sentence.

5. What would you like to achieve next term?

Please put your answers on the blog with your name so that we can get back to you if you need our help.

Thank you.

i've really enjoyed pe i like the fact that first we have training then games its a good structure.
my only anoyance is the fact othe length of the pe lesson as by the time you've got changed you don't have a long left of the lesson. if possible could are pe lessons become double lessons.

1. Cricket and Netball. I Enjoyed the feeling of hitting a ball far distances and racking up the runs. I Liked netball because of the way to get the ball, running around a lot to intercept it, or hoping the opponent drops it.

2. I found it hard to catch the ball in cricket since it travelled so fast.

3. I once went to a tennis club and once a football one, but never anything to do with the school.

4. I enjoy PE a lot, it is fun and one of my favorite lessons.

5. I would like to get better at each sport, and be able to catch the ball easily when playing cricket.

My first half term being a student at Highgate Wood school has been a lot like a roller coaster. There has been ups and downs but overall my first term has been fantastic. I have made many friends and still have many more to make. I have thoroughly enjoyed the PE cariculum and learning about the ways in which different cultures take on and respect sport. I have been introduced to many sports, such as netball and tag rugby. I have got myself doing after school activities and clubs during school, these are all very enjoyable and there should be more! PE has been very enjoyable and i really can't wait to get involved in more sport.
I think that during the lunch time bell and break time bell there is no orginisation. It can be very scary at times as there is not enough space to move! I think different years should be let out at different times, this is the one thing that has concerned me throughout the whole term and it would really help if it could get sorted out as soon as possible.
I have loved being at secondary school and you have truly made me feel a part of Highgate Wood school.

I really enjoyed sprinting relays, and also the swimming. Next term I want to improve my long distance running. I think there should be a running club at the school, though. I think P.E at HWS is really well taught, but I wish there were two jumpers for when it gets cold!

i didnt want to do JSLA coursse however i feel like i have no choice but to do it. I have no interests in the subject of P.E and do not really get on with my teacher.

I have asked to move to normal P.E however the members of staff from the P.E department continue to tell me that the classes are over crowded, although i feel that at least they could try to do something...

The lessons are un-organised and we never know where we have to go for lessons so we always have late people coming in and out of the classes disturbing everyone else.

I feel that the P.E department staff have not helped me in anyway and have not made an effort to consider the changes I am CONSTANTLY asking.

I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT FEELS THIS WAY AND I AM SURE THAT AT LEAST HALF THE CLASS IF THEY HAD THE OPPORTUMITY, THEY WOULD QUIT !!!
