Year 10 Leadership Award Level One - 2008/2009: Unit 4 - Understanding Fair Play in Sport

Fair play is a key part of all the sessions you will lead.

1. What do you understand by the term 'Fair Play'?

2. What do you do during a session to make sure games are played in the right way?

3. How do you make sure everyone is treated with respect?

4. How did you deal with disruptive behaviour or pupils lacking respect for others?

5. How did you feel when dealing with problem behaviour?

6. Did it make a difference to how the rest of the session worked?

JSLA questions

1. Fair play means that sport is played with no bias, and no arguing with the referee. Also being a good sportsman or woman while playing

2. I would set out some guidelines clearly before we start something so it is clear in everyone’s minds what to do and so there is no arguing over a misconception.

3. Give everyone a chance and if I see any forms of disrespect I will tackle them with punishments.

4. Exclude them from the game or drill, or make them do physical exercise because then they are improving themselves as well as learning a lesson, like press ups for example, but during my session this didn’t have to be done.

5. Didn’t have to

6. No as everyone completed it.
